I read about where you can get lions... we are not too far depending on when we can get The Great Zehtuka quest. You have to do it just right, but it'll be worth it so I can get rid of the stupid flamingo!
Just checked that out man, and I think you can only get them there before you do that quest. You can also get them from Barbarous Shore. Pretty much, when we open up the command post we'll be able to get them - i think.
The other option would be a lynx. Which rock around in north kryta (among other places). We can get to Kryta now anyways, with the Lion's arch mission. I think Lions (or Lionesses) are pretty cool though.

A lion would be awesome...or even a Lynx...though I don't like their deoderant!
Whatever you want to do Mick, I am up for it. If it takes a little while, thats cool with me - these things can be a bit tricky.
actually mick it could be quite a challenge to change your own pet. just requires some acrobatics like when copland got jinn one...
