4 elites!!

following copland's advice... today when i went to cap an elite ritualist skill i thought i'd check the area first to see what other elites i might be able to get...

well... armed with 3 caps (most you can take) i got 2 ritualist and 1 mesmer skills on one run into the domain of secrets!

makes up for the 5 runs into sorrow's furnace i had to do for one skill, due to several bosses sharing one spawn location

the trouble with vanquishing

had a bit of a crack at vanquishing tonight...
just out of the blue you find yourself dying 3 times, and over an hours work - gone!
i racked up about 120 kills - needed around 200. oh well...

i did manage to get my lightbringer total up to 39,996 (so close to 4/5ths of the way there) as well as score 3 sweet gold items.

i think i'm going to get my hands on some of these bad boys - powerstone of courage - removes all death penalty and 10% morale (or moral) boost for whole party. i'm sure i would have finished off this area with one.

got a bit done

ok...
so i did start some of those quests

i finished "the experimental weaponsmith" (you get the reward there)
and
"Melodic Gaki Flute"
and started
"the beak of darkness"

do experimental first, then you're right near the other 2 - dont just charge in though 3 lvl 28 assasins spawn - if one of you try and take them on it could get messy.

from there i did what you guys could probably run - head south (you'll need to go east first) to saint anjeka's shrine - just to open the map up.

i then went up to house zu heltzer (map travel) got the gaki flute reward and a new quest - "discord wallow lyre"
i then went back to saint anjeka's shrine, headed south and finished discord wallow lyre - and then got the reward and obtained the quest "rhythm drinker drum"

i now have 5,300 faction in kurzicks.

in short - i finished experimental weaponsmith, melodic gaki flute and discord wallow lyre, and progressed one step in the beak of darkness - that probably around an hours work - probably less.

On Sunday Xyla went for a bit of a roll thru Dalada Uplands in the Charr Homelands
Here she is in this amazing place of funky towers and giant sunflowersI used this opportunity to go crazy and clear the map. which wasnt too hardAlso managed to get up to level 3 on my allegiance with ebon vanguard - which is cool - i can now buy ebon vanguard consumables. i would love to get the ebon armor at some stage - i need to be level 5 to do that though.
the underlying goal at the moment is always gold. Here's the latest tally (75k is the target)

Hi all,

Just letting you know i have finally done all of the mission for Nightfall and amnow only 5 Masters misisons away from protector of Elona. The last mission is surprisingly easy and is done mainly by monks and casters! (4monks in your party)
Anyway i look forward to getting more done with your help.
If can assist anyone who needs some tanking to be done, let me know.

So, I had some time to kill last night, couldnt sleep and thought hey, I might flesh my map out, have a crack at the vanquish and get some gold and sunspear points while i'm there...
so i did!
If you start at Blacktide Den you get to take a party of 8. Couldnt have done it from Jokanur Diggings - theres one bit where yoyur up against 12 or so ridgeback scales... crazy!

from beknur to kodlonu

so, I thought I'd kill a few birds with one stone today...
I wanted to open up my nightfall map a little - so I thought I'd "run" from beknur harbor to kodlunu hamlet. I didnt have kodlonu at all so I needed to get there - the passage is issnur isles.
Then I thought - "hey, why dont I do it in hard mode, vanquish the sucker and get some gold while I'm there"
So... thats what I did!
I had to kill 343 monsters to clear the map! But I got 4 bounties on the way and I'm now over 21,000 in sunspear points and have over 28k in storage - i think thats a personal best (I added just under 5 from this one session). Maybe getting enough gold together to buy some elite (or ascended) armor in nightfall isnt out of the question. I think vanquishing is a little easier in nightfall than it is in prophesies.

so... i'm still trying to progress in the whole sunspear title thing, and well, i also thought i better get my finger out and start strying to save some money - as i'm trying to contribute to the whole guild hall thing, as well as be able to buy 2 new sets of armor - i want to have 3 in all - focussing on different builds - so rune and insignias to help that. in particular i want to buy some new armor from eye of the north! yay

so... i figured i'd try some reasonably high level vanquishing. so i headed to the holdings of chokhin, which is one of my stock standard sunspear farming areas. And to my surprise - I kicked butt! The boss that often gives me grief; setikor fireflower wasnt an issue at all, which was surprising really. And well I vanquished the area (which means extra gold i think its 3 times the number of monsters - so i got like 700 and something just for finishing it).
So as of today - I've just cracked 20k in my storage. Which is quite an achievment for such a frivolous young man!

Future conquests...

Guys it feels a bit like we've hit the wall. After a great start with the cims, we switched to the original characters and had a great time doing missions and bonuses. But we don't seem to have a common goal anymore.

Here's what I propose:

Before Tuesday, identify one area you would like us to help with. Maybe it's a mission you are having trouble with, maybe a skill you'd like to cap. Maybe even an area you'd like to scrape but can't get there without dying. Even though we might have already done that mission/capped that skill/scraped the area, we help out. I reckon that's what being in a guild is about- knowing someone's got your back if you are in a rut.

In my case, I'd like to progress fast through nightfall with Maisa so I can cap skills. I'd also like to open up more map in the shiverpeaks. If we can spend a bit of time (45-60 min??) helping me out the next time we are on that'd be great.

Caine would of course be included. Even if he can't join us, we can help him for a while if he needed us.

Of course I'm still happy to play with the cims for poops and giggles.

So... is there something you guys need help with?

Fire Islands

I'm pretty excited because in one night I finally capped barrage, I completed a hard mission with bonus first go (Thunderhead Keep) and I scored a massive range of gold items. I kind of wish I didn't give Ian those other gold items to identify... I've got gold identifying fever!
Also, I thought I'd waste report writing time by trying to find something to link. So for all you GW and Doom 2 fans, try this.

thought I'd take advantage of the double XP for skills caps this weeked and hit Perdition Rock.






















Knowing that I had a total of 4 skills to cap in the area, I took 4 caps (hoping for some lucky spawns) and 3 darkstone keys, as well as a couple of lock picks I just happened to have on me.

so the first awesome thing to mention is that I found a total of 5 chests - 2 gold items. I actually retained a lock pick for the first time, and then did it again... so that was nice! I did a full circuit of the island, which took me about 2 hours (with henchies). Here's the map.

















Lastly... I managed to get 3 of the 4 caps i was looking for. Unfortunately, Echo, was the one I missed out on. Oh well. I now have a total of 8 skills lef tto find in prophecies for the 2 classes. It means a trip to mineral springs and some other stuff.
Its pretty tough to just choose 4 skills to go with, but i managed. Here's my skill bar.
