I do feel like a bit of a sharp stabbing pain because the competition is a little ripper. But I never really got into buying/selling or using dyes. By the way if you need any of them then as guildies feel free to ask.

Collector of Dye - Inter Guild Title

I have decided to crteate a title for our own little guild, called the "Collector of Dye". I guess its pretty obvious, but here is how it works.

Different colours of dye will be allocated points. We all add up our dye points and whoever has the most points is the "Collector of Dye". You can challenge at any point for the title - and if you beat the current champion then the losing champion has to give the new winner something (e.g. 200g, a cool rare item, a nice weapon). It is up to the losing champion to decide what they wish to give to the new champion - but please note - uncool gifts make you an uncool champion.

So, I suggest we add up what we have and post our total points, and I will be happy to give the gift for the Inaugural Anatomy of Death, Collector of Dye Competition.

Black/White Dye - 10 points

Silver Dye - 8 points

Red/Blue/Yellow/Purple Dye - 5 points

so... i'm still trying to progress in the whole sunspear title thing, and well, i also thought i better get my finger out and start strying to save some money - as i'm trying to contribute to the whole guild hall thing, as well as be able to buy 2 new sets of armor - i want to have 3 in all - focussing on different builds - so rune and insignias to help that. in particular i want to buy some new armor from eye of the north! yay

so... i figured i'd try some reasonably high level vanquishing. so i headed to the holdings of chokhin, which is one of my stock standard sunspear farming areas. And to my surprise - I kicked butt! The boss that often gives me grief; setikor fireflower wasnt an issue at all, which was surprising really. And well I vanquished the area (which means extra gold i think its 3 times the number of monsters - so i got like 700 and something just for finishing it).
So as of today - I've just cracked 20k in my storage. Which is quite an achievment for such a frivolous young man!

Hi Guys, just thinking that we should all save up at least 10 platnum before eye of the north comes out and then us that money to buy a guild hall and a couple of extras. It mights be easier than scraping up the cash now. That leaves us all about 4 weeks to get 10plat or more, which is plenty of time.

The one thing I really (really) want to do with you guys though is a photo shoot! I think it would be best to go maisa, stamp, xyla and whoever you want caine. It would also be good to get some other screen shots, so i can make up a bit of a banner to go on our front page...

bit of a download, but worth checkin out!

combined with some earlier press releases we can now see that the Charr aren't simply an enemy - one of the heroes is a charr ranger - this is worded in the trailer as "unpredictable allies". Gwen is definitely in it - probably a mesmer from her armor.
Anyways, I wouldn't bother with the dungeon preview unless you're interested, but the trailer is worth a watch.

This week I want to...

OK, so I am totally up for another crack at the Dock's mission - Master's Reward Style!

Also, would love to have another go at Hell's Precipice to try and cap an ele skill I really want for Zhed.

The only other thing I'm interested in is going back to Prophecies and getting my Cartographer on! Not sure if this is beneficial for everyone, but if Mick and I can find some stuff to do and Ian and Caine want to do missions together that would be cool with me.

But here it is, it is babyone but its a start....

Level 18, off the island, Sunspear Commander, what else could i ask for.....it took a couple of solid sessions (2-3hours) while i was sick to bring this baby home. So when you guys want to go for nightfall, let me know cause i will be ready.

Clumsiness

One skill I generally equip if I have any attributes in Illusion Magic is Clumsiness. It's a terrific spike for pretty much any of the non casters and is also effective with casters at times - unless they are smart.

I was quite surprised when I discovered the orgin of this skill.

I have a thing on at school, and will probably not get home til somewhere between 8 and 8.30. So... I guess its a somewhat late start on Tuesday for me...

I'm happy to roll with what you guys are after, but here are some things that I would like to do... which i'm sure can fit into what yall are thinking. All I'm interested in at the moment is Xyla though I guess.

1 - Finish off the missions and bonuses in prophecies (i have 5 to go)
2 - Masters in Nightfall - i think you were interested in this copland?
3 - Skill caps. I'm sure there are still some i need pretty much everywhere (except Dragon's Lair funnily enough).
4 - levelling up heroes. If we are going anywhere pretty light - with beasties that are under level 20 i have a level 12 jin and a level 18 goren, as well as the pets for both xyla and zenmai... All in my to do list...

there you go... thats all i got for now...
the only thing i dont want to do is spend much money!!! so no more 2 or 3 skill caps for now i guess.

The Hunt for Scelus Prosum

I am on a search for an elite skill, Mind Burn. The only place I have opened up with a boss that has it is Hell Precipice. So, this is how I will spend my days...in one of the hardest parts of the game, searching for a boss who rarely spawns in order to get a skill I will probably never actually use myself.

He will be mine...oh yes, he will be mine!

Finally, if we are all still up for tomorrow night, then I would like to go back through NF and redo all the missions to get the Master's Reward for each of them. Either with the CIMs or with our other characters. Not sure where Mick is up to with Maisa or Caine with his NF character, so maybe we should wait a bit until everyone is caught up...not sure?!?!

goin' down the hard mode

so yes, the pun does have a point... a few interelated thoughts

1 - i finished nightfall, hence unlocking hard mode in said elona

2 - have you guys check out the sunspear skills? you get them from the hero skill trainer at the sunspear great hall (and elsewhere, but they are all the same and thats all i can remember right now)... the thing with these skills is the dont rely on putting attribute points into a certain area, but are determined by your rank in sunspear - and thus giving you a good reason to want to get to higher sunspear levels. Check out the skills anyways... You cant use them with heroes, but they are still useful... i bought 3 (mes, necro, ranger)

3 - so... ive been alternating my lightbringer farming with sunspear farming. hopefully i will get to the 7,500 required for castellan some time. that would be cool!

4 - i havent been buying keys lately, so im actually saving a little. I'm back over 5k anyways, which is an achievement for me!

I use these pretty much all the time. I always have the 8+1 attribute points in Fast Casting, so its quite flexible.

OK, so a mesmer maybe does NEED a green longbow, but I generally find myself luring reasonably often, and hey... who says I cant have a little style.












F3 Gorrel's Staff
An Illusion Specialist Staff. I don't need this, its more there to show the warriors who's boss when they are flashing how cool they are cause they have a purple machete.













Builds of Choice.
1. Spiteful Spirit - Best Build for Real Team
My build of choice when it comes to working with real people - particularly you guys.

1 parasitic bond (self heal)
2 spiteful spirit (every time they attack or use a skill they and nearbys take damage)
3 mark of pain (thats the one that makes big groups die fast)
4 barbs (throw this on after MoP to make the target die quicker too - also good for bosses or other hard to kills)
5 empathy (probably one of my favourites - they take damage each time they attack - SS deals 27 per attack, empathy is more like 43 - but only hits when they attack, not skill usage)
6 backfire (whopping huge damage that hits them as there next spell casts)
7 power spike (awesome interupt - spells only - hits for 114)
8 cry of pain (interupts any skill - only deals damage if they are mesmer hexed - which they normally are - this is a sunspear skill, only dependant of my rank in sunspear)

2. Lightbringer Gaze Echo or Nightfall EndGame
makes the most of the Lightbringer Skill (Lightbringer Gaze) by tripling its use. I also use some interupts, as there are some whopping damage dealers that throw meteor shower (among others) your way in the end game. As LB gaze is a skill and not a spell, i start by arcane echoing echo, then i can triple my usage!

3. Anti-Melee
A fairly simple ineptitude build. I include one spell interupt just in case. Often I leave out 5 and 6 if i need a res, extra interupt, signet of capture or lightbringer gaze

4. Anti-Caster
another reasonably simple build. 1 + 2 slow down casting rates, 6,7 +8 are the interupts. 3 is anti melee (empahty rocks, really), 5 is conjure phantasm which is just a nice easy skill to spam, and 4 is my self heal illusion of weakness, which is an awesome skill - i include it in any build where i have illusion magic.

5. Lightbringer Farmer / Pet Leveller
i came up with this energy surge build to specifically attack the 3 mosters i come accross in the mirror of lyss while farming lightbringer points. Its also helping my level up my bear. skill 3 is the closest thing i have to a spammable spike, wastrel's demise, works well against these guys cause they all use spells (mesmers, eles and dervishes). 8 is my self heal, i rarely equip inspiration magic, but it works well here... i could as easily go illusion of weakness, but whatever...

Level me up scotty!!

This week my main goal is to get Spartacus upto level 20.

I should be able to achieve this by doing a 2 or three mission and their bonus
It is so hard to level up in the Prophesies, i guess it makes it all the more exciting when you get there.

Swop it like it's hot!

So, I have this idea that we sould all swop characters one night and do a mission. Nothing too hard, and nothing important, but just a little mission or quest. It would give us a better sense of what everyone is doing, but more importantly, it could be fun.

*Please note, it will only be fun if everyone can chill out, and not get their nickers in a twist about their build, or weapon or skill set.

july housekeeping

welcome to this months issue of housekeeping.

1. Want to get a pic of all 4 of us together. I dont mind wich characters we use, its up to you all... I'm happy to go arthinian/spartacus, stamp, maisa, xyla... or cims... up to you? lets do this the next time we are all on together. Maybe we can think about a nice spot for a team photo...? somewhere interesting... whatver you guys think... maybe on the beach, north kryta province? up to you all...

2. On the left hand side of our blog site (about us, links etc) I want to put a photo with a guild-roll. I can do this in photoshop. I just need photos of 2 or 3 (or 4) toons each, and their names and classes. Then we can have pics of the most used characters all there.. I will probably just go for heartcaller and xyla at this stage. It will be designed in such a way to make it easy to modify. Just email me a screen shot of the toon at character select screen... cool?

3. Character Profiles.
I was thinking of doing a full profile for xyla. with weapons, top 5 builds, etc... dont know what this will look like, but i might be able to come up with a template to throw you stuff into... i think it will be cool to have full profiles... thats all...

4. Labels/Categories.
I have noticed that we double up a bit with some of these. Most recently we had 2 labels "exploring status" and "explorer title" i think i will try and clean these up a bit, and get rid of some of the doubles and some of the ones that are rarely used. Its also fine to give a post several labels just put a comma in between them. I dont mind there being more specific labels for posts that commonly occur, like explorer, its more frequent than just going in "titles". cool...

5. Lets use that "this week i want to..." label and throw up some ideas.

6. Copland can you put in a post with the title "wishlist" for a shield for koss. I think it will be remembered better that way. And yeah... anything else anyone wants...?

The only character I have put much time in exploring with is The Stamp. Currently, he is...
Tyrian - 90-95%
Elonian - 35-40%
Canthan - less than 5%

In the words of Cher..."If I could turn back time..." what a different game I would have played. I would have scraped a lot more and thought about my map exploration more seriously. Luckily, I have learnt my lesson and am being a lot more thorough in NF, and I plan to be in Factions too.

Im officially Broke

Just bought some good armour for spartacus today which cost me about 9k so i have 150 gold in my storage account. The armour is good so i cant complain. It feels good to have new clothes but sad that it cost so much. The path of a warrior is narrow and costly.
I am sure a little farming and scraping will help ease the pain.
