GW:EN... what does that really mean?

i was checking out the gwonline forums and found a whole school of thought that seems to think a major NPC or hero in Eye of the North will be related to the title of the game.

GW:EN = Gwen

There are whole heaps of people predicting what she will be, whether she'll be still young, or the grown up mesmer she always dreamt of. And who knows? those flutes might actually have a purpose???

After a long period of absence, announcing the new and unimproved Michael featuring new internet access, a new address, old jokes and style that money refuses to buy on principle. I can't wait for next Tuesday fellas.

D.E.A.R

Well I've done my catch up reading so you can all stop crapping on about how I never read the blog!

A couple of thoughts... we should invite Caine into the guild so he gets a cool cape to wear. He may want to just go solo for now, I dunno, up to him I guess.

Also, get him into the blog. If he needs anything, has any help requests, we can help.

Finally, I have pictures of my new place on www.myspace.com/rampagingmonkeys , check them out. There's no furniture yet.

Hopefully I'll be up and running this Tuesday.

priorities:titles

as we start thinking about eye of the north, i guess we start think about heading somewhere.
here's the titles we can go for

in general i think all of these are obtainable (with time) this a rough order of what will be easiest for our old prophecies characters. just keep moving in the general direction. Tuesday night belongs to our original cims, other times, let keep working on these guys...

0. Get the extra 30 attribute points. In Nightfall its easy - you get them with ranks early in the game... with prophecies it requires some quests. I cant remember the ins and outs of it, but we can work it out... they are in the desert. We should do this at some point... it will give us more to play with in our builds.

1. Tyrian Explorer (Pathfinder/Trailblazer/Cartographer).
A bit of intentional filling out the map, along with doing some missions/quests will get us to the 60% for a title (then 70,80,90)

2. Protector of Tyria
This requires getting the bonus (and completing) all missions. I think we are all around 10 on this, so its not impossible. Something to not focuso n, but have a crack at when you have a spare 30 minutes or so i guess.

3. Treasure Hunter
Spend the bucks, buy those keys. When you see a chest, open it. This is one title for all campaigns.

4. Seeker of Wisdom
This one takes a little stuffing round. Not a great deal... but a little. Basically, from what I can figure out, gold items add to this. So you identify one and it gets you a point (i think?), So, if you find a gold item with any character, dont identify it, put it into storage then identify it later when you are logged in with your title gathering character (stamp, xyla, maisa?)

5. Sunspear Commander
We will obviously take all our characters over to the other campaigns... then... only 1,000 points and you get to wear this title. I imagine it wont mean much to the hall of monuments, but with a bit of boosting it up (to Castellan or Warmarshall) i imagine it will....

6. Lightbringer
Again, this is pretty easy to get once at the right point of the game in nightfall.... keep working away at it... and it'll come... (like being constipated really)

7. Skill Hunter
Quite simple really... Cap 90 skills.
This WILL require secondary proffession changes. I'm not sure how many... but yeah, this way down the list obviously.

8. Explorer of Cantha / Elona
Same as above (1) once we get into those campaigns.

9. Protector of Cantha / Elona
Same as above (2) once we get into those campaigns.

10. Sweet Tooth / Drunkard
Basically, eat sweet things, and drink grog.
lists can be found with each title. Sweet tooth requires lots of money, Drukard requires lots of money and lots of boring time sitting around.

If we can get 10 titles. we will get the title "People know me"
the other titles like this are here... i so want 25 titles one day.

Short of getting into PvP, having a character that never dyed or hacking into the ArenNet system, thats pretty much all we can get...

Eye of the North

With all the cool stuff that goes along with the new Eye of the North expansion I have been getting back into my first character - The Stamp.

Was wondering what you guys would think about dedicating some Tuesday night time, or maybe a separate one off session to working with these characters. Ian, I know you haace Xyla and Mick maybe your top level ranger would like to come for a spin. There's fun to be had in the Shiverpeaks, as well as getting these guys into Factions and Nightfall.

Let me know what you guys think, but I plan on doing a s much as I can with The Stamp (titles, skill capping, etc...) so if you wanna get on board, that's cool with me!

brutal weapon

so... you all like my brutal weapon build?
check out other weapon spells and tell me if there are any other you think might work. most only work on the next time you use the weapon or next attack skill. brutal weapon is good cause it works over and over for a set time.
here's the pics of what you guys look like. unfortunately all weapon spells look the same.

copland's secret plan

unveiling another secret plan..
Copland's rather tricky arrival at his new secondary
dervish
this whole, oops mesmer thing was a facade
to hide the truth
copland has been desperately longing to cap avatar of lyssa
why...?
why this particular avatar?
because...
it make you turn into a girl!
you see... copland desperately wants to play a female character, but theresa wont let him.

here's the pics...

map... i've worked out your game mick!

below you can see the map of where me travelled on tuesday night.
marga coast to be exact
a lot of moving around... yes?

some further critique will show, that one "merlin" is up to no good.
yes that's right. mick... you directed us on a particular route.
its all about subconscious messages.
upon turning the map 90 degrees clockwise...
it reaveals.
a scetch of a ranger! (with a big bum)

the futile search for comander noss

floodplain of mahnkelon
total bosses: 8
bosses we killed: 7
number we could reach: 7

can't get number 8 until doing mission!!!!
argh!
sorry if i was getting a bit shirty, i'm just getting frustrated that lots of monk skills that are "core" cant be capped in nightfall, and most the warrior ones can be. this is probably due to people who play monks are more intelligent and better look, and above all... more discerning.
for example... who knows the trut h about a certain "dr" (inverted comma's due to the dodgy institution their doctorate is from)...

Thursday 5 April 2007

a rediscovery of early 90s fashion?

do you want to go back to the Docs?
terrible i know

If we do the consultae docks mission again
copland can cap
magehunter's strike
and
pious renewal

there's nothing in it for you and me mick, but i wanna cap everything, and i'd like it if you guys want to as well...

Monday 2 April 2007

Its a Liger...half lion, half tiger.

Flactions also has tigers...so Mick, have a think about it. Pretty soon we'll be looking like a David Attenbrough special..."Here we see the Ball Banger, a rare and stragne breed...who seems to have slightly homosexual tendancies."

I...I can't back that up, sorry.

Flactions!

I'm really enjoying working with my new Assassin, Cim Thumb Biter (its from Romeo and Juliet). There are some pretty cool aspects to being a Assassin, like the lead hand, off hand, dual hand attacks that build on each other. As a Warrior, or even a Ranger you don't have those sort f rules..rules that also help with the character's build. It's cool.

Assassin's also have some cool moves...like this made dager flick thing that we do after an attack.

So, the long and the short of it...Assassins are cool. Now I just have to shift from a 'tanking' mindset to a cross between a ranger/warrior/caster type thing...hmm.

Also, I tried a Ritualist and confirmed that I am not a caster...its just not my vibe.

So, for now...beware the Biter of Thumbs!
